Fresh Tuna Steaks with Chickpeas

Fresh Tuna Steaks with Chickpeas, a healthy food from originally Chinese Recipe. The tasty tuna meat combine with the aromatic flavour of Ginger gives you a delicious main dish for healthy living.
Try this Chinese food recipe, it's an easy recipe and quick prepare


Ingredients :

400g can Chickpeas
2 cloves spring onion
2 Tuna Steak meat
2 tablespoonful ginger, finely chopped
2 teaspoonful soy sauce
125ml Fish/Chicken stock
2-3 sprigs fresh Coriander


Cooking Direction :

Take the chickpeas out from the can, tip and rinse throughly under fresh tap water. Set aside to drain

Finely chop the white part of the spring onions, set aside
Cut the green part of the spring onions diagonally into short pieces. Set aside seperately from the white part

Heat the Frying pan over a high heat
Spread oil to wet the pan
When it's very hot, put the tuna steaks on the pan
Sear over hight heat for about 2 to 3 minutes
Transfer the tuna steak to a plate, set aside. Cover with foil to keep it warm if necessary

Lower the heat to medium . Cook the chopped ginger and white part of the spring onions on the frying pan, stirring frequently for 2 to 3 minutes, till the ginger soften
Pour in the stock and soy sauce. Add the drained chickpeas.
Bring to boil and simmer. Stirring frequently till the liquid almost evaporated and the chickpeas are hot.
Stir the green part of the spring onions through the braised chickpeas
Season with pepper to taste, and add more soy sauce if you like

Serve the Tuna Steaks to a serving plate, pour the chickpeas mixture
Garnish with the coriander leaves
